Perforator Flaps

Perforator flap surgery is a type of breast reconstruction surgery. Dr Victoria usually offers breast reconstruction at the same time as the removal of your breast cancer. In this type of surgery, the surgeon creates a new breast mound using skin and fat from an area next to your breast, for example, upper tummy or back. Dr Victoria might recommend this form of reconstruction if the cancer occupies a large area of your breast.

The advantage of perforator flap surgery is that it can provide a very natural-looking result. It can also be used to correct any asymmetry that may be present due to a previous lumpectomy or breast surgery.

If you are considering perforator flap surgery, you will need to have a consultation with Dr Victoria, who will be able to assess your individual case and determine if this type of surgery is right for you.
