Implant Reconstruction
Breast implant reconstruction surgery is a type of surgery that is performed to reconstruct the breast after a mastectomy. The surgery involves placing an implant above or under the chest muscle to create a new breast mound. Breast implant reconstruction surgery is often performed at the same time as a mastectomy, but can also be done as a separate procedure.
The decision to have breast implant reconstruction surgery is a personal one and should be made in consultation with Dr Victoria. If you are considering breast implant reconstruction surgery, it is important to understand the potential risks and complications associated with the procedure. These include infection, bleeding, capsular contracture, and implant rupture. You should also be aware that breast implants are not lifetime devices and may need to be replaced at some point in the future.
If you are considering breast implant reconstruction surgery, be sure to discuss all of your options with Dr Victoria. Breast implant reconstruction is not right for everyone and there are other methods of breast reconstruction available. Dr Victoria will help you decide if breast implant reconstruction surgery is right for you.
