Hybrid Breast Augmentation
Aesthetic trends have evolved with time and the requests for very large implants have dwindled in the last 5-10 years. Instead, the trending demand is for smaller implants to increase breast volume but with a more subtle, natural enhancement.
The hybrid breast augmentation combines breast implants with fat transfer to the breasts and is becoming increasingly popular with women and surgeons. Fat transfer to the breasts involves harvesting fat from another area of the body where there is excess, like the waist, tummy, or thighs. The fat is then processed and injected into the breasts to the cleavage areas.
Hybrid breast augmentation allows Dr Victoria to sculpt your breast shape in a way that would not be possible with implants alone. A round implant can be combined with fat transfer to produce a more natural shape whilst giving you the upper pole fullness and volume that you would not get with a teardrop shaped implant.
The other benefit of hybrid breast augmentation is that it can minimise the long term trauma to the skin of your breasts that is caused by implants. Large breast implants are heavy and can stretch your skin with time. The larger and heavier the implant, the greater the trauma and droop you can expect over the next few decades. With hybrid breast augmentation and a smaller implant with enhancement with fat transfer, you can achieve the same (if not better) cosmetic effect.
