Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, is a type of cosmetic surgery that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. This surgery can be performed on both men and women. The goal of abdominoplasty surgery is to improve the appearance of the abdomen by creating a smoother and more toned appearance.
This surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia, which means that you will be asleep during the procedure. Dr Victoria will make an incision in the lower abdomen, just above the pubic area. The length of the incision will depend on the amount of skin and fat that needs to be removed.
After the incisions are made, Dr Victoria will then remove any excess skin and fat. Once this is done, she will tighten the abdominal muscles and close the incisions with stitches or staples. Recovery from abdominoplasty surgery can take several weeks. During this time, it is important to rest and avoid any strenuous activity. You may also need to wear a compression garment to help support your abdomen as it heals.
Most people are able to return to their normal activities within four to six weeks after surgery. However, it can take up to twelve weeks for full recovery.
